Set of Tea Cups on Table

With spring almost in the air, the Virginia Beach History Museums will host two history and tea-themed events in March and May at the Lynnhaven Colonial Education Center.

Spring CrafTea: Tussie Mussie
Thursday, March 28 at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Tickets: $35

Ready to jump into spring? Create a personalized Tussie Mussie floral bouquet holder complete with fresh spring florals. Learn the tradition of this delicate arrangement and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea. Event is complete with a casual cream tea service and tour of the historic Lynnhaven House and grounds.

Mother’s Day CrafTea Perfume Workshop
Thursday, May 9 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Tickets: $45

Have you ever wondered how to harvest the fragrance of a rose, or capture the irresistible aroma of sandalwood? Then this workshop is for you! Join Virginia Beach History Museums staff to learn how people in past times preserved and blended botanical extracts and tinctures for cosmetic purposes. See the entire process from start to finish, then enjoy a scent sampling of alluring aromas.

Each participant will explore the different personalities of scent, and then bottle their own to take home. All ingredients are all-natural, organically grown, and pharmaceutical grade. Workshop will be led by Rebecca Suerdieck, a perfumer who practices historic floral distilling methods. Event is complete with a casual cream tea service and tour of the Lynnhaven House and grounds.
