The Lynnhaven House will be closed from April 4, 2016 until mid-June 2016 for a moisture mitigation project. The interior walls of the house have moisture behind the plaster that needs to be corrected. The project will entail removing the plaster on the walls to allow the moisture to dry, construction of a swale to redirect groundwater away from the house, and repair or replacement of windows on the first floor. The housed collection will be moved to a secure, off-site location during the project and will return when complete. The Colonial Education Center will remain open for special events and programming throughout the project.
